In vino veritas

The Corkscrew is an adored local wine shop. Friendly expert staff, cellar temperatures, unusual tasty wines (ahh)...what more could you want?

At left is the friendly Frenchman, Laurent (thanks for posing!), behind it all.

Much better to get your wine from somewhere like the corkscrew rather than the supermarket where it is just another line that they sell. Personally I prefer to deal with people who are passionate about what it is that they do.

Great collection, Lulu, and I agree with Paul (above)...this beats the local supermarket. There are fewer and fewer 'off-licences' about, sadly.

Bonjour Laurent !

Too hot to drink wine here now (at least for me), the temperatures are soaring, I'm sticking to water! :-)

Now all you need is a bit of cheese... :-)

What a lovely shop. Is the owner partial to French wines or does he love American wines too?

Paul - oh I agree! I think we're still lucky to have a lot of small, local businesses around here (not big name corporations lacking that passion :)

LOLfromPasa - thank you! And, sigh, so true - I'm afraid even smaller places (like Princeton) are facing an uphill battle against characterless chains!

cieldequimper - haha, I actually like ducking into Corkscrew now that it's a million degrees, because everything's kept chilly! But water is my drink of choice at the moment too :)

Jenny - he's joked that the reason he opened a wine shop in Princeton is because it's halfway between France & California! :)

Great spot to keep cool Lulu, and pick up a couple of bottles of excellent vino at the same time. Should have known it would be a Frenchman behind it haha!
